Certification
Chain of custody is a process that tracks a product from a certified farm and establishes its journey during different stages of production till it reaches the consumers. The process assures the end consumer that the sustainable claim made on the product is accurate — protecting the credibility of the sustainable castor producer.
The chain of custody standard focuses on processer and traders’ roles in supporting the economic development of WCSF producers. The chain of custody Standard includes requirements for the handling, processing, sale, traceability, and marketing of WCSF certified product to ensure that only products purchased on WCSF terms are labelled as WCSF certified.

The program’s vision is to offer organisations with independent, third-party certification services that prove their Processing, handling procedures, quality management systems, and products are meets the requirement of WCSF standard.

The WCSF certification program is not only a control and verification program in Castor industries but WCSF providing transparency into the supply chain by measuring and monitoring the implementation of sustainable practices and their ecological outcomes, provided the supply chain with a system to verify the content of sustainably grown materials providing companies with a trusted program to communicate sustainably claims to stakeholders.
Scope
This Chain of Custody standard is applicable to various entities such as Crusher/ICS, Trader, derivative manufacturer, international trader, international end users and various sectors such as Castor Growers, Castor oil Processors or Traders, Consumer Goods Manufacturers, Retailers including procurement, storage, distribution, handling, transportation, and labelling of WCSF willing to promote and to improve productivity and sustainability in the castor supply chain of WCSF certified product.
Certification Requirements
The WCSF Chain of Custody Standard is a standard that provides organizations with a tool for confirming the presence of given input material in a finished product. It requires that each company in the logistics system take reasonable efforts to ensure that the input material’s integrity and authenticity are protected.
The certification body shall issue scope certificate including sites and products after successful completion of annual certification audit at the participation sites. The WCSF certified material must arrive to supply chain sites with supporting transaction certificates and verification labelling.
